Hello, Melody! I'm so in love with my new American Girl BeForever doll, Melody Ellison. I haven't read her books yet, but I do know a bit about her and her story. She's from Detroit, from 1964, and she loves singing but gets nervous in front of an audience. I think she's absolutely beautiful and I'm so excited that she's here. We went to the Seattle American Girl store last week and I fell in love with her accessories and play sets. My brother and I want her microphone so bad! At the store we heard about the Lift Your Voice with Melody Ellison campaign to celebrate Melody’s arrival to the American Girl line. It’s fun and easy to participate, you just need to watch the Lift Your Voice with Melody video and then share your own inspiring videos and photos using #LiftYourVoice to share how you are speaking up to make a difference.
Check out my unboxing video when my mom surprised me with the new doll. I was so surprised!

American Girl has done it again! I love their 18" dolls so much, and was super excited to hear that they had a new line of 14.5" dolls they were debuting this summer.
Aren't they adorable? I love their playhouse so much!My mom surprised me with Willa, the nature-loving WellieWishers doll. Since I love everything about nature, Willa is a perfect fit for me. I've had so much fun playing with her this summer. I even did a photo shoot with her.
My little sister loves her so much and is constantly stealing Willa from me. She can now say "Willa" really clear, so she asks for her all the time now. She is pretty cute with her, and she's gentle so I let her play with her sometimes.
That's cute, but nothing can compare with how much I love Willa. Check out this video showing how much I love the WellieWishers dolls:
I love Lea's story and I've been taking more nature walks with her recently. I got her hiking accessory set and love her walking stick, so my mom helped me make my own to match her.
I used ribbon, washi tape, and paint to create the stripes like Lea's walking stick. My mom helped me with hot glue to stick down the ribbons.
I think it turned out adorable, what do you think?
I've never been to a sock hop, but the new American Girl Maryellen doll has inspired me. I have fallen in love with the 50s and want to learn everything I can about the decade. Saddle shoes, poodle skirts, side ponytails, and the very best music – the 50s are so much fun!I took my new Maryellen doll to a local 50s diner in Seattle to shop off her fun style. We shared a chocolate malt and everyone stopped to tell me how adorable she was.
I love her so much and all of her accessories. I love the dress I got at the American Girl store and wear it all the time so I can match Maryellen. I am dreaming of getting some more of her line – I really want her jukebox for Christmas this year!
Grace Thomas is the 2015 American Girl doll of the year! We're similar in many ways: Grace is a baker who loves Paris, France, and she's a blogger! I love her so much!
Look how cute her charm bracelet is! My mom has been making me a charm bracelet of everywhere I've been in the world since I was born, so I love that Lea has a special bracelet from her mom! I also love that Grace is helping give back in a big way with For Goodness, Bake! We're going to participate in For Goodness, Bake! this fall and have a bake sale. I'm so excited to raise money for No Kid Hungry with American Girl.
Grace's story shows how trying again and believing in yourself can help you achieve your goals. My goal is to be a better baker. I'm going to be practicing my baking this year until I get even better, and then I'll bake a bunch of stuff for the bake sale.
